Abstract

Purpose: This particular study aimed to explore the perception of female college students toward women¡¯s clinic and their reproductive health promoting behaviors.

Methods: A total of 277 students from 4 universities in D metropolitan area participated in 2016. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Spearman correlation coefficients. Results from open-ended questions were analyzed with content analysis.

Results: Most students reported that their image of women¡¯s clinic was either neutral or good, and they were willing to visit if needed. Image was positively correlated with intention to visit. The extent of reproductive health promoting behaviors was different according to major, smoking, drinking, regular exercise, interest in health, sexual intercourse, and history
of female disease. Reproductive health promoting behavior had a positive relationship with health belief, but a negative relationship with fear of negative evaluation.

Conclusion: Considering that female college students¡¯ intention to visit women¡¯s clinic was associated with positive image toward women¡¯s clinic, it is needed to develop programs that can help them have positive images while promoting their
reproductive health behaviors.
